Russell Crowe UFO sighting: “Gladiator” actor Russel Crowe claimed Wednesday that he captured a reddish-colored UFO on camera flying above some botanical gardens in Sydney.
Actor Russell Crowe went on Twitter Wednesday and claimed that he caught a UFO hovering over Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens on video.
“A friend and i set camera to capture fruit bats rising from Botanic Gardens, this was a big surprise (sic),” Crowe tweeted. He said the same thing in an interview with the News.com.au website.
Crowe also defended the authenticity of the video from naysayers who said the lights in the video might have been lens flares or other, possibly natural phenomenon.
“Canon 5D, no flash, can’t be lens flare because it moves, camera is fixed,” he said, according to the News website. “The camera is on a balcony—not behind glass.”

The “Gladiator” actor also said he was around 250 meters (800 feet) from the botanic gardens when the footage was captured.
Crowe posted the timelapse videos, which were condensed down into a manageable size, on YouTube. The video shows a disk-like object flying horizontally across the landscape.
“It’s not a video it is 3 time lapse photo’s taken in 4.5 seconds,” he said on Twitter.
The alleged UFO is emitting a bright, reddish light that is pointing downward. On Twitter, Crowe added, “I will grant you at the time the music wasn’t playing, also, yes, we have pushed in on the frame..this is 3 photo’s in order, nothing added.”
