Oscars Dresses on the Red Carpet (Photos)

So far one of the biggest trends I’m seeing is the strapless dress. Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence, Kerry Washington, Zoe Saldana, Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Chastain are all in strapless dresses. Most of them are wearing their dresses with no necklaces, rather accenting them with large earrings and Hollywood glamour hair, deeply parted with soft waves.

Jennifer Hudson, presenter, is wearing a Roberto Cavalli dress, which she says took three days of fittings to complete. The dress is a long-sleeved applique-d navy blue dress, which she accented with long straight hair, bangs, and a gray manicure.

Helen Hunt, Best Supporting Actress nominee for “The Sessions,” is wearing a navy H&M dress, that has $700,000 worth of jewelry sewn onto it. She chose to wear H&M because of their commitment to using organic materials.

Anne Hathaway, Best Supporting Actress nominee for “Les Miserables” is wearing a light pink column Prada dress.

Naomi Watts, Best Actress nominee for “The Impossible,” is wearing Armani Prive. The dress is sparkly, silver, and one-shouldered, accented with a chignon, dangly earrings, and a silver cuff.

Charlize Theron, presenter, is wearing Dior Couture and Harry Winston jewels. The dress is a white column with a fitted bodice and V-neckline.

Another big trend this season seems to be sparkles. It started when Jessica Chastain first walked the red carpet, but continued with Quvenzhane Wallis, Naomi Watts, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Kerry Washington.
