Lohan sentenced to 120 days in jail: Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to 120 days in jail and 480 hours of community service on theft charges, and must report there by June 17, a judge said on Wednesday, media reports say.
Lohan’s lawyer entered a no contest plea for the troubled actress, accepting the charges and sentence against her, according to CNN. She was not at the hearing, which was in Los Angeles.
"I am glad to be able to put this past me and move on with my life and my career," Lohan stated on Wednesday, according to CNN. "I support the judge’s decision and hold myself accountable for being in this situation."
The 24-year-old Freaky Friday actress said that she has “already started my community service at the Downtown Women’s Center,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
Steve Whitmore, a spokesperson for Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, said that a 120-day sentence can be reduced to 71 days for good behavior, the Times reported.The Sheriff’s Department will decide if Lohan is eligible for electronic home monitoring instead of going to jail, and would be required to wear an ankle bracelet, according to the newspaper.
