Rock and roll hall-of-famer Jerry Lee Lewis releases his new disc Mean Old Man on September 9, and he wants you to know it’s not about him. According to a Reuters report, Lewis says “No, it has nothing to do with me whatsoever … It's named for the Kris Kristofferson song (that starts the disc).”
Along with a guest appearance from Kristofferson, the 10-track disc features a slew of other celebrity guests including Sheryl Crow, Slash, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Kid Rock, Willie Nelson, and John Mayer. Mean Old Man will also be available in the 18-track deluxe package that includes collaborations with Shelby Lynne, Solomon Burke, and Gillian Welch.
Look for Lewis performing with the cast of Broadway's Million Dollar Quartet on September 10, and at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York September 13.
