Hulk rumors were denied by actor Mark Ruffalo, who played the green anger-prone superhero in “The Avengers” last year. He said there are no plans for a new “Hulk” movie in the near future.

Actor Mark Ruffalo has stamped out rumors of a new “Hulk” movie involving the bulky green superhero.

“A lot of folks have been asking about the Next Hulk. The next time you see my Hulk it will be in the Avengers 2. No plans for stand alone,” he tweeted on Wednesday.

Ruffalo, who played the Hulk in last year’s “The Avengers,” added that he is “not giving up on another stand alone HULK. But it’s not in the works right now. One never knows what the future will bring,” according to another Twitter posting.

Recently, there have been a number of rumors about an upcoming Incredible Hulk movie ahead of the sequel to “The Avengers.” Last month, Latino Review said “The Avengers 2“ would end with the Hulk being shipped off the Earth as part of the Planet Hulk storyline.

But earlier this week, “Avengers” director Joss Whedon said that the Planet Hulk storyline would not pop up in an “Avengers” sequel, according to IGN.com.

“Well I’m really not supposed to comment, but no, that’s nonsense,” he said, in reference to the storyline.
