NEW YORK—A financial advisor, Greg Kayel, attended Shen Yun Performing Arts at Lincoln’s David H. Koch Theater on June 25.

Describing what impressed him most about the show, Mr. Kayel said, “The coordination, energy, colors. It’s great … a lot of energy, speed.”

Classical Chinese dance involves training in physical bearing, artistic expression, unique postures, a variety of technical movements, and highly difficult tumbling techniques. It has become one of the most well received dance forms in the world.

Featuring some of the world’s leading classical Chinese dancers, the high standard of Shen Yun Performing Arts dancers is reflected on stage through movement, precision and perfect coordination.

“Everything is intertwined with each other,” said Mr. Kayel. “I think it’s very artistic the way it all came together.”

Mr. Kayel identified the dance piece named Plum Blossom as one example of the exemplary choreography and the synchronicity of the Shen Yun dancers. “They way they all moved with each other, pretty impressive,” he said.

In the Plum Blossom dance, female dancers in sparkling white and pink hues portray the symbolic plum blossom flowers using movement, costume and ornate fans. Greatly loved by the Chinese people, the plum blossom represents resilience amidst adversity, blooming even in snow.

For five years Shen Yun has toured the world, featuring an entirely new program lineup each season. This week’s performances at Lincoln to June 26 highlight the company’s special selection of its very best pieces.
