Madison High School in Houston was placed on lockdown after threats were made via social media.

The school was locked down shortly after 1 p.m., KHOU reported.

The nature of the threat was not disclosed but officials said it was made via Facebook.

Houston Police released a statement about the matter.

As such, HISD Police is working in collaboration with HPD and other law enforcement agencies to maintain a safe environment and have increased patrols at multiple campuses as an added safety measure. At HISD the safety of all the students is a top priority.”
