Eastwood’s daughter’s wedding: Actor Clint Eastwood, 82, walked his daughter, Alison, down the isle March 15 to her groom, sculptor Stacy Poitras.
Director Alison Eastwood, 40, married Stacy Poitras of Country Music Television’s “Chainsaw Gang” on March 15 in California. Poitras makes sculptures with a chainsaw on the program.
Eastwood wore a 1930s-inspired beaded gown by Les Habitudes, according to People Magazine.
The couple released a joint statement to People, saying: “We are thrilled to be surrounded by our family for this very special day and appreciate their love and support as we begin our married life together.”
Poitras told Celebuzz in December: “I feel like I am the luckiest guy in the world because Alison is truly an angel, we are both very happy.”
Clint Eastwood won’t be the only celebrity father to give his daughter away this year. Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus will walk his daughter, Miley Cyrus, down the aisle when she marries her “Last Song” co-star Liam Hemsworth this year.
The country singer, 51, jokingly told Us Weekly: “Liam asked if he could have my daughter’s hand in marriage, and I said yes if I could be in his brother’s next movie.” Chris Hemsworth, of “Thor,” is Liam Hemsworth’s brother.
Cyrus also recalled a sentimental text-message moment with his daughter. He sent her a message: “I just want you to know, whenever you’re ready, I’m going to be very proud to walk you down that aisle.”
She responded, “Daddy,” with two smiley faces.
Cyrus, 19, and Hemsworth, 22, got engaged in June 2012 after dating for three years.
Several other celebrity weddings are expected in the coming year, perhaps the most anticipated of which are the unions between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, and between Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux.
