Don Felder: Road To Forever (Membran)

Don Felder: Road To Forever (Membran)

Felder’s 27 years as the mighty Eagles master guitarist leaves an indelible legacy on this classic Los Angeles rock album. It deepens on repeated listening as the rich texture of superlative guitar, iconic images and pure themes of freedom and open skies interweave on tracks like ‘Fall From The Grace of Love’. Not without modernity ‘Girls in Black’ is even reminiscent of Robert Palmer’s milestone hit, ‘Addicted to Love’.Giants, including Crosby, Stills and Nash, feature as guests and Fender is well within that calibre. ’Wash Away’ is a classic, with gentle rolling rock riffs and almost biblical imagery in the lyric.

A thoroughly classy album.
