Author Hilary Mantel Wins Man Booker Prize
Becoming the third author in the history of the award to win twice, author Hilary Mantel has won the coveted Man Booker Prize for 2012. Mantel’s “Bring Up the Bodies” is the first sequel to receive this honor. In accepting the award, Mantel said, “You wait 20 years for a Booker Prize, and two come along at once. I regard this as an act of faith and a vote of confidence.”
Johnny Depp Launches Publishing Business
Actor Johnny Depp is teaming with HarperCollins to create the publishing imprint called Infinitum Nihil. Titles published will reflect the actor’s “diverse interests and passions,” according to HarperCollins. Introductory works put out by the new entity will include “The Unraveled Tales of Bob Dylan” by Douglas Brinkley.
In a statement, Jonny Depp declared, “I pledge, on behalf of Infinitum Nihil, that we will do our best to deliver publications worthy of peoples’ time, of peoples’ concern.”

Don Quixote E-Book Released
The Sociedad Cervantina of Madrid this week released an e-book version of Miguel de Cervantes’s famed work “Don Quixote,” Fox News Latino reports. The high-tech version of a renowned classic is being referred to as the closest rendition to the original volume. The e-book includes almost 300 engravings of Gustav Dore, thousands of pop-up notes on the original text, an introduction, and critical analysis, according to the report.
