Jennifer Lopez is rumored to be the gap filler at American Idol as both Kara DioGuardi and Ellen Degeneres will leave the judges’ panel.

Rumors in various media sight Jennifer Lopez as the newest American Idol judge. Lopez was on the show once three years ago as a guest performer. The official Idol site has not yet confirmed J-Lo’s position.

If she joins, J-Lo will team up with Randy Jackson and Steven Tylor for as the new 3-person judging panel for the upcoming 10th season, now open for auditions, according to TV Reality World.

After coming onto the panel for the show’s ninth season in 2009, Kara DioGuardi’s contract has not been renewed, according to the Washington Post.

According to a statement from American Idol, both a busy schedule and Ellen Degeneres her personal judgment made her decide that she is not the right fit for show.

“I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting, and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on Idol and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be,” said Ellen Degenered on the American Idol website.

Degeneres joined the show as a member of the judging panel last season and then first spoke with Fox producers about leaving two months ago. On Thursday she twitted, “Dim the lights…I've voted myself off American Idol,”
