Two Fingers -- 'Stunt Rhythms' (Big Dada)

Fresh from the touring of 2010′s ISAM, Amon Tobin has some found time to put together Stunt Rhythms under his pseudonym Two Fingers. Grimey dubstep sub bass and head nodding hip hop rhythms are the main components. Tracks like ‘Sweden’ or ‘Fools Rhythm’, epitomise the overall growling swagger of those styles, while ‘Razorback’ or ‘Defender Rhythm’ chucks in some fizzing electro and d’n'b beats to round out the influences. There’s a host of quality beats here with Tobin’s original production stamped all over them. While arguably not as experimental as ISAM it instead demonstrates his ability to make tough, funky beats look deceptively simple. It’s really not.
