Singer Kelly Clarkson posted an explanation for what she deemed an “oversight” in response to criticism that an Indonesian cigarette company was sponsoring her upcoming show in Jakarta. On her blog on Wednesday she said, “So ... my morning began with finding out that I am all over billboards, TV ads, and other media formats along side a tobacco company who unbeknownst to me is sponsoring my Jakarta date, on my current tour. I was not made aware of this and am in no way an advocate or an ambassador for youth smoking.” A later update on the singer’s site revealed that the advertiser had pulled the ads and materials were being taken down “as quickly as physically possible.”

“Early Show” anchor and host of “Big Brother” Julie Chen is setting her sights on yet another CBS gig. The wife of CBS Chief Executive will shoot a pilot for a daytime talk show that some are saying will resemble ABC’s “The View” and will gear its content towards mothers. Chen is a new mother and is currently on maternity leave from her other jobs at the network.

Actress Julia Roberts is teaming up with famed Indian film maker Shekhar Kapoor to produce the upcoming film tentatively entitled “Mallory,”—a biopic based on the fatal attempt of George Leigh Mallory and his partner Sandy Irvine to summit Mount Everest in the 1920’s. Roberts reportedly will play Mallory’s wife, Ruth.

Singer Rihanna suffered a rib injury and required hospital care earlier this week, while performing in Switzerland. The artist visited the Hirslanden private clinic to “make sure it was nothing serious,” according to a statement from her publicist. She was released hours later and is recovering well, according to reports. She has not cancelled any dates on the European leg of her “Last Girl on Earth” tour.
